Have had my Epic for a week now and absolutely love it! My last 3 phones have been Samsungs and I never had a problem with any of them. My daughter has the Evo and i'll take the Epic over the Evo anytime.

My name is Red. I like the Epic 4G. I moved up from the HTC Hero. I'd really like to learn how to root this phone and learn all I can about this, especially stuff that isn't in the manual!

I can help you there. How does running the newest android version through a stable build of cm9 sound to you?

sounds good to me! Would really like to learn all I can, root it, change the image on the lock screen, remove some of the bloatware, and perhaps load it up with Jellybean or something like that. It's got Gingerbread right now, but I want something better. Something more fluid and cooler, ya know?

thanks for the help.

Jelly bean doesn't exist yet. It's ICS.

ICS, as I just stated, is the newest Android OS. It's available through cm9 (a custom ROM based on Android 4.0 ICS). I'll post up some guides for rooting/flashing/cm9 as well as some video tutorials when I get a chance.

I’m impressed, I must say. Really seldom do I see a forum that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. Your thoughts is important; the issue is something that not a lot of people are talking intelligently about. I’m really happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
