Will you remove Samsung's UI to upgrade to Android 2.2?

I want to give "smart life" a try first. And who knows, Flash 10.1 may be available for 2.1 devices, perhaps as part of Google's attempt to end the fragmentation.

I'm not afraid to root/mod, but I won't make a decision until I know what S life looks/feel like IRL.

Hi electrofreak. I actually pre-ordered this phone based on your processor differentiation blog post. I liked that, very helpful for a guy like myself who will research a phone for weeks before purchasing.

I will be ditching the touchwhizz as soon as a method for upgrading safely to 2.2 is stumbled upon.  I have had a Nexus One and a Milestone (euro-droid) in the past, and the nexus one was incredibly easy to get customised firmware working on. If there is as good a method for this galaxy s then I will be dumping 2.1 as soon as I receive the device.

To be quite honest, the phone looks a bit like an iPhone, and so does touchwhizz, with the bar across the bottom with the grey background and your main 4 icons that are on each screen. I know it's a lot thinner physically, but it still has that chrome edging. I really like stock android, and however good the music player looks in touchwhizz I would rather have the stock android, especially if the "450% faster" claim is true.

I know that 450% speed increase is only on one benchmark, and it only takes slight optimisation to achieve this, but if the same applies across the board for the rest of the OS then I will be jumping ship to the yoghurty frozen goodness  immediately.

Bad news: I've heard second-hand that Samsung has a way of withholding proprietary drivers from developers or the public so that it's virtually impossible for a group like XDA Developers to produce a compatible version of a newer build of Android.

Samsung says it will get Froyo. As everyone with a Behold II (still running 1.6 after being promised 2.0) knows, this might not be worth much given Samsung's track record, but here's hoping Samsung will make efforts to improve their reputation with the Epic 4G.

I would if theres an application that can give the swipe to call/SMS function on the address book.

hi everyone I'm selling my nexus one to my friend and I want to buy either an Iphone 4 or this galaxy S. I don't want to ask u which one is better, because I like android and I also like the iphone, they bought have big pros and cont like no flash for a 5mp camera thats soo stupid, or no flash player for apple anyways.

I want to now if the multitouch experience of the galaxy s is similar to the iphone multitouch.

Nexus one for me is perfect if it wasn't for the multitouch not even close to iphone experience.
