So I finally got the 2.2 update the other day. Yay. I found it had a few minor changes that I liked and most changes weren't a big deal. One bad thing I started noticing first though, is a slight lag when waking up the phone. Quite annoying. That aside, there is a major issue that everyone needs to be aware of!!!! They added a "RAM Manager" within the "Task Manager." This RAM Manager gives you the option to clear 2 levels of RAM. Level 1 clears inactive applications. Level 2 clears inactive applications and background applications. I clicked Level 1, it notified me that it closed nothing. So I clicked Level 2, and now my phone is completely broken. It basically force closed TWLauncher, and now my phone can't restart it. I have tried to shut it down, it won't let me. I have pulled my battery 5 times now, and every time, the phone starts up, and it notifies me that TWLauncher has failed in some way and gives me the force close option. I can do NOTHING. Not a single thing on the phone works, it just doesn't respond to anything I try to do. I assume now I will have to take it in to get the software flashed, or get it replaced. I am warning everyone, STAY AWAY FROM THE RAM MANAGER!!!!! ESPECIALLY THE "LEVEL 2" !!!!!!!!!

Btw this is the ECO5 build most recently released around March 24th.   And the sound issue with BT is a known issue apparently.  I will have to call cust. service tomorrow to see what my deal is....

I have used "Level 2" a lot and have never had an issue, except that it does restart the radio (phone).

Hi All Happy  I was just wondering if anyone is having issues with the update Firmware, PRL and Profile in settings? Everytime( since the Froyo update) I try to update these, I cant, it always goes into ERROR mode.  Any ideas or solutions?
Thanks !

I am new to this forum but am I specifically looking for others who are having problems with batteries.  Before the update my battery was one of the best I have ever had.  During the day when I rarely use it it rarely went below 80.  Now by the time I charge it at night it is completely dead.  When I take it off the charger in the morning it is down to 90% within 1 hour and I hardly even touch it.  A friend at sprint sent me a new battery and that doesnt do anything either...

Anyone have an explanation?  I have hardly any apps running on my phone, deleted everything I dont use when this started...

I'm sure more experienced owners will pipe up on this but here are my initial thoughts.  Possibly a minor detail but have you updated your PRL lately.  I know I know.  Either way it shouldn't drain your battery that much.  Do you use a task killer?  Maybe stuff is running in the background that you are unaware of.  Have you done a hard reset on your phone or restored it back to factory settings?  This could potentially fix anything that may be "stuck" running.

Like I said, I'm no expert . . . .

This update sucks big time. All kind if apps turn on at will and is draining the battery.
Anybody know a fix? Turning them off in running services doesn't work they come back on. Also anyone know how to turn off music player mine does turn off unless i
shut down phone and turn back on.

I DID use a task killer, but recently read an article (on this site actually) that said its not good to use.  So I downloaded Watchdog, which is basically the same that are implying.  So, yes, I have been watching programs to make sure that nothing is running constantly.  Now, I think I know how to do the factory reset but what is a hard reset?  I have only had my phone a few months and I have not done much research on it.  So any help on this would be great.  I am willing to try anything at this point.  A factory restore would be rough, but like I said I dont have much on there anyways...

I got the EC05 update a day or so ago. The volume problem is still there. Now I also have an issue with the bluetooth not connecting occasionally to the Sync/navigation in my car. This shit is unbelievable.

Factory restore and hard reset may be the same thing.  I'm not sure.  Read this and let me know.

Wow, didn't realize all the issues i'm NOT having. I just went thru a week and a half trying to figure out why I don't get email on 3 diff accounts.  Comast, Yahoo AND Gmail.  Without going thru the gory details, it turns out its just a part of bugs in the update. I have to use K-9 mail to get my emails., otherwise, nothing.

(and thats after I had a mint condition epic that they did a replacement on ...and let me tell you, the refurb I got was not exactly in the same mint condition my original phone was in.)  The replacement, turns out, was unnecessary.  Undecided  After a week and a half to finally determine its a bug in the update, I was only offered to adjust my upgrade date so I could go out and buy a new phone with my $150 credit.

NOT. I'll just use my K-9 mail until they figure out all the issues.... Crying

After the update, I keep getting some kind of notification song intermittently (sounds like a forest with birds and piano playing) which does not turn off until I unlock phone and check my notification tab by swiping my thumb from top to bottom.  I've checked every setting for sound and notifications and can't find that song anywhere.  It is driving me nuts as it turns on sometimes at night and I have to wake up to shut it off.  It is also not part of any alarm app that I have.  Anyone else with this mystery song/notification playing? Eyes Rolling

I have the exact same issue. I've been searching for the sound for a couple days and finally found it this morning-- it is in the Clock app, only in the "smart alarms" sections (sound is called "Forest"). I don't have smart alarms enabled, but this noise still goes off randomly.

I just downloaded an alternative alarm application off the market... if it works fine, I plan to uninstall the clock app and see if that addresses the issue. I'm hoping this noise is only confined to this app, since I can't find this sound anywhere else on my phone. Hope this works!

I think just putting the song to pause and going to home is the only way I know.  There doesn't seem to be anywhere to actually turn off.  I would like to know of how to turn off Music Player as well....  Any other answers our there///??? Eyes Rolling
