I updated my phone recently. I'm not sure if this is what is causing it. I have changed nothing on my phone but every time the Media Scanner runs it seems to take far less time to finish. And once I open up any mp3 playing program they all state that I have nothing. No albums or artists etc... But the folders are still there under Android/Data/Music.  I can ofcourse go to a single file and click it and play it but something is wrong at the core with my phone.

Please help. What can I do about this? I've tried many things, shutting down and popping the card and all that. The phone is just different ever since that update.

Thanks!

I had this issue recently.  I turned off the phone, took out the battery, and popped out the SD card for a second.  Then I restarted the phone.  I noticed the media scanner took a LONG time to finish (aggravating as I was driving back from Vegas at the time!)  After that I had MOST of my music, the ones missing were all from ONE smaller local band, I got a message saying the song type couldn't play.  I ALWAYS got that for them, though, so I think there is a DRM issue, and I'll need to re load those songs.

But at least I had my other tunes back!  Phew!

My Galaxy S Epic has had a LOT of issues after the GB update, which I'm slowly working through.  Very annoying to say the least.  I haven't noticed ANY improvement in speed or function, just weird stuff like this!
