email and text notification

Hi guys, I got 2 quesitons here. When I first got my samsung epic, instead of using the pre-loaded email function that came on the phone, I put another one on the phone, so now when I get emails I get 2 notifications Crying

I want to delete the newer one and go back to the one that came on the phone, but I can't figure out how to delete it from phone. Didn't d/l from the market, so not quite sure how to fix!
Also, I d/l a really cool text messanger, but can't figure out how to turn the preloaded one off. It worked fine when I just downloaded it, but suddenly it started notifying me 2 times when I have texts. HELP PLEASE!! Happy

go to settings, applications, manage applications, select the app you want to delete, uninstall. I don't know if you can disable the stock messaging app.

The chances of finding out what really is going on are so absurdly remote that the only thing to do is to say hang the sense of it and just keep yourself occupied. DA HHGG

What he needs to do is go into each of the stock apps, hit menu, settings, ad disable notifications for the stock apps, so it only notifies through the replacement apps he downloaded
