I was wondering if there was a way to change the icons on the bottom taskbar.  Phone-Contacts-Messaging-Applications?   I would like to get rid of the messaging icon and replace it with the Chomp icon that I'm now using.

There's no way to customize Samsung's crappy TouchWiz interface but you can get a good home replacement app like LauncherPro (the free version) and you can completely customize the dock as well as have three scrolling docks. LauncherPro will also let you have 7 home screens.

I've been using LauncherPro on my Samsung Moment for six months and have never had a single problem with it. It also runs perfectly on my phone (and mine has a slower processor than the Epic).

There are other free home replacement apps out there. I've tried many but I always went back to LauncherPro. I even bought the "Plus" version to have dock popups, resize widgets and the special LauncherPro widgets for Facebook, bookmarks, Twitter, contacts, friends, etc....

If you go into applications and hit menu>edit you can switch around what is in that bottom taskbar.
