The Samsung i9000 Galaxy pro will be have a full QWERTY touch screen (as seen in the picture).
It will cost an extra $67, and Samsung has stated that the phone will be released in June.

BTW: the picture is not the real thing just what someone thought it would look like.

Oh yes,

I saw this phone on a French or Italian blog just a second ago. I wonder if the qwerty keyboard will make the phone fat. Right now the phone looks pretty slim and looks great.

yea but sometimes people like to beef up the qwerty no body knows why.. but if you want it the couple mm won't hurt or feel much of a difference either.

I personally don't like fat phones. They make my pockets bulge out.
If the QWERTY keyboard is thin that would be great but like rouge135 said if it's like huge then I wouldn't like that on this phone.
Just my opinion.

Plus you have a choice you don't have to get the qwerty version if you get one. if i get it I really don't want a keyboard and really just want a good touchscreen. and this is it. a 9.9mm phone is going to look soo nice.

The phone is pretty light too.

I might get the QWERTY keyboard. I get mad at touch screen keyboards sometimes.

Hahaha. Annoying pressure screens never select the right letter. I press "A" it selects "Q".

I think the Pro version is a good idea for people who don't like touch screen keyboards.

Yea, that happens sometimes, i think it is funny sometimes.

I'll have to see how good the screen is, my Zune HD has a great touch screen but rarely it is act zonky to so I guess a physical board would be nice to have.

I've been using Swype on my G1 for a few weeks now... and I now believe that I do not need a hardware keyboard.

Don't get me wrong - the G1 keyboard is a dream - 5 rows of responsive buttons...  but once you get the hang of Swype you'll find yourself "swyping" much faster than opening the keyboard slider, typing, then closing.

Currently using a rooted G1, looking forward to trying the Galaxy S

Is SWYPE really that fast?

I have heard lots of good things about it. I can't wait to try it out and see what it can do.

Once you have mastered using it, yes it is fast. If you are like me, using it occasionally, then it is about the same as normal touch screen keypad, but is more convenient.

But one thing skype excels is when you use it for passwords and usernames. As it remembers, you just swype away at any login box. Very very fast an convenient

I have found that the faster I swype, the more accurate it gets. Counterintuitive, I know...

I'm using a "beta" version on a phone with a slow processor. I expect the Swype experience on a snapdragon powered phone to significantly better. And the experience is all ready very, very good!
