I only had my Epic for about a week when I experienced a few problems. I was told by tech support to go to my local store and swap my phone out for a new one. Instead the girl at the counter told me, "oh, it's probably just the update" she takes my phone 15 minutes later she gives it back and has me putting all my info back in. Without asking me she had taken it upon herself to update my phone. I was running 2.1 and I really liked it, except of course the minor software glitches I came in with (screen would pop on when I was talking and weird things would happen) since then my phone became so much worse. Sprint just sent me a new one, it came today but it's running 2.2 and I really liked 2.1 better. So, my question is for those with more than the week experience I had, should I swap out my new phone for a 2.1 model (Best Buy is holding one for me) or will I come to appreciate 2.2 when I'm using it on a well working phone? I liked being able to decide which things I would be notified about...yes a text, no for email 2.2 doesn't do that. My pretty wall paper is gone, dumb I know, but the 2.2 wall papers are kinda funky and I don't do the live wall paper so I can save battery life. (There are a few more differences but none of them are all that important really.) I just don't know if I had my original version long enough to make an educated guess about which version is better. So I'm hoping to get some input from more experienced users.
I have a computer, I only use the phone for calls, a little time waisting fun and keeping track of appointments...in case how I'm planning to use my phone is a factor. Well, what do you all think???
