The following is a quote of the email (online submittal) I made to Amazon AppStore Customer Service. This is of course only my opinion and interpretation. You may not agree with me, but I at least recommend you read the terms of service on a PC where you can actually see it. :-) Of course I doubt they can "disable" that section, but I wanted them to know how strong I felt about it. I really like Amazon.com so this was a surprise to me.
----------
Good Evening,

Please remove or at least disable the Amazon (Android) app store section from my Amazon account. I do not accept your ourageous terms of service for the store now that I can actually read them on a PC screen. I have deactivated my device!

I am extremely disappointed in Amazon for the way the store is set up. From my interpretation, using the apps apparently requires the following...

1) Having the AppStore app installed on my phone

2) REQUIRING having one click activated: DANGEROUS

3) Always being signed in to the account from the phone: DANGEROUS

4) Suggesting no recourse if an app is purchased by mistake. Outrageous, especially since you apparently have such complete control!

5) Indicating that purchased apps might someday be unavailable BECAUSE you say there is no guarantee that the store or apps will always exist YET they are apparently tied to the store being there.

6) Not guaranteeing an app will necessarily be available if wiped off your phone. (However, it appears you will try.) The phone companies often have folks hard reset (wipe) their phone to try and solve problems.

If 1,2 and 3 are not true then at least some apps (even daily free ones) may NOT RUN at all. Today's free Angry Birds RIO is apparently this way. In other words we have to have our phone in a financially DANGEROUS condition in order to use any apps we purchase. No thanks!

I also do not like that 1 click for the app store is tied to 1 click for the regular site. Unacceptable! I never liked one click in the regular Amazon store where at least you can easily cancel. However, FORCING 1 click on us in the app store with no
security is totally inexcusable.

I have been a long time customer and fan of Amazon.com. Might I make a suggestion that you be careful not to let the app store damage your super reputation. I can't help that this app store discovery experience has tainted my feelings. It may sound silly, but to be honest, just seeing the app store section in my Amazon account now irritates me.

In addition to my request / complaint, I truly hope this feedback is helpful to you. I apologize if I have misinterpreted anything.

At least the app is now off MY phone!

Hi, I understand why you object to one click, it's a scary idea and you're right there are no safe guards. I would just like to relay an incident that recently happened to my son. He spent the night at his girlfriends house (who has spotty cell service) and saw a free app of the day he wanted. After purchasing, the phone updated and he was charged for the app...it had been free the day before but when he bought it, it was a $5.99 app.
He contacted Amazon (2 days later) and in a flash they removed the app for him and credited him back the money he was out.
I don't know that this would change your mind about the Amazon App Store, but in our limited experience they have been easy to deal with and quick to fix a mistake.
That's been our experience, at least.
Regards
