install one of many file manager apps from the market to do it.  one popular is Astro.

try to long press the ringtone you want to move, then move, then media, then audio, then ringtone, and it should move to where you want it.  Another option is an app called Ringdroid, it allows you to make your own ringtones from any of the music you have on your phone, I think its pretty good and fairly easy to do.  I hope this info helped you

I'm with Nitrus- I created an additional folder in the media folder called "ringtones". make sure it's all lowercase. Now when you bring them over it goes there & your phone recognizes it when you want to assign it as your main tine or to a specific contact.

don't know if this is another answer to your question, but i figured out after transferring some of my custom ringtones from the blackberry, they were located in the music app (pic of a subwoofer).  i went into that, selected the unknown artist, selected bluetooth, and my ringtones were there.  click on one and then bring up the bottom left file thing (sorry, don't know the terminology yet) and the middle bottom option is to use as ringtone.

once i hit that, it became an option in the ringtones for incoming calls

Adding a new Ringtones folder on the SD card root also worked for me. I recommend this (rather than as a subfolder of media) for those ringtones you don't want to show with your music collection.
